“Our senses are constantly overwhelmed, we need to declutter them”
IAN WRIGHT - THE DYNAMICS OF STILLNESS
Our Story
Life is overwhelming. Our senses are constantly overstimulated, our brains are constantly at work, thinking, thinking - always either planning the future, or evaluating the past. We spend rare moments living in the present moment. We have become disconnected from nature and disconnected from the natural aliveness in our bodies.
Throughout the world, most cultures have developed some form of meditation, including prayer, singing, mindfulness and contemplation practices.
Everyone needs some form of restorative practice - rom simply taking a moment to breathe and be still, especially in young children, to practices for helping the elderly connect to a sense of internal peace.
